I ...I say the same thing about female friendships. I feel like I left them behind after becoming a mom. Not that I don't have friends..... Just not the same type of friendships. I often wonder if it is because we have had all selfishness beat out of us as moms and we think it's selfish to WANT to have those type of friendships, so we don't allow it.... (if that rambling made any sense at all..)mommy4lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04871768973136152830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22157774.post-78435754341777636962008-12-11T13:20:00.000-06:002008-12-11T13:20:00.000-06:00Sounds great, though I don't usually read sad(ish)...Sounds great, though I don't usually read sad(ish) stories. Life is sad enough and I want to be escape to more lighthearted fare.

That said, I'm currently reading a book about infidelity that is rather depressing, lol.

You and I have talked about the girl friendship thing before. I so miss the connection I had with friends when I was younger. I'm not sure I can even describe how I feel.....maybe by saying I yearn for it? My soul hungers for it?

The one person I shared that with into adulthood (although we spent many years with little contact) is the friend that died last summer and I still feel that loss acutely.

Yet I know SO many women that say the same thing that I wonder if those types of friendships even exist anymore.

Speaking of depressing subjects.....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
