You get excited when the grocery store is selling a product you thought was discontinued. You buy it out (it is, after all, on sale and you loved said product) and excitedly rip into aforementioned box to discover they have, in fact, been discontinued. Telltale sign: stale and hard.
Shelf life around here is insane.
(Note: They have not replaced the product I bought out last month.)

Wow, that stinks. I am so glad that I am not in a small town.
In/sane thought - from small town senior citizen. We just squirt water on it and nuke it till the steam rises. Absolutely - it is no longer hard, perhaps a little soggy and stale - kind of like oatmeat - or oatmeal - darn,
If Mrs. Sr. would quit hiding that darn coffee cup, it would be easier to think and spll. I tink.
