Paranoia

Great! Now I'm paranoid. Yesterday at the blogger thingie, kpjara told me all about these features whereby a blogger can find out who visits their blog and how long they stay.

I can only imagine the psychotic stalker some people probably think I am.

So now I'm in a sort of hysteria to visit a blog, speed read it and link away as quickly as possible. If a kid interrupts (I know,I shouldn't read blogs when my kiddos are awake. I do sometimes) I exit the screen. But what if I didn't finish reading? Do I go back? Do I wait until tomorrow? Do I sound like a freak?

You know, a life of blissful ignorance is sometimes best.

Although, I can almost feel the power. Visit a blog...that says virtually nothing...stay a whole weekend...link back to them several times...mua-ha-ha-ha-ha! I have you, my precious.

LOL! Unless you click around on the site, I think the time stays at 0 secs for some reason. At least my SiteMeter does. BTW, you can click on anyone's site meter pic and see their stats. ;) The first time I figured that out (on Rocks in my Dryer), I felt like I was looking in Shannon's underwear drawer! I quickly clicked away. LOL.

Interesting...

I can't decide if I want one, or if I would become obsessed.

Considering I'm an obsessor, I'd better not.

Yet.

Hey....wait a minute....were you just in my underwear drawer?

LOL! I saw you clicked on my Site Meter and couldn't resist.

I'm. Watching. You.

ROFL

That's so funny! I thought I was the only one who worried about people looking at how long I stayed at their blog, and wondering what I was doing. Then sometimes I go the other way and hope I don't hurt their feelings if I click away too quickly. I've crossed over into just being dumb about it.

Site meters can be a bit addictive! I have considered taking mine off of my blog but I only check it now about once a week--although every time i check it I am wondering why I am doing it!?!

Too funny!

I had to see if it really worked (and what exactly it showed).

That you can see if I saw your site meter leaves me feeling a little Big Brother-ish.

Ah, the power.

I totally didn't know we could look into 'underwear drawers' from the sitemeter doohickey...that wigs me out (which is an 80's saying, for the younger set, that means "NO WAY!").

I go back and forth about whether to keep Sitemeter or not...the overwhelming decision is: I think it's hilarious to look at the google searches and this is the only way I know how to do that!

Jamie,
I'm so bummed that I didn't get to talk with you more on Saturday, and after this post, I know we would have hit it off!

When I discovered the awe of SiteMeter, I was sure I looked like a stalker, too. I'm just hoping that the sites I visit a gazillion times a day have enough visitors that I just wasn't noticed. LOL.

Chili, I'm glad to hear you say that some of the times on your sitemeter stay at 0 secs. I was beginning to think that my page was so repulsive/boring/lame that most people would run away crying the second it opened. (Why else would all those people stop by for ZERO seconds?)

sometimes the 0 seconds is because other people hit "next blog" and then get to yours. so it's probably not a friend that is staying 0 seconds. I don't get hooked on my sitemeter, I just check it for cool google searches.

Wait...where do you one of these sitemeter doohickey thingies? I want one!

Sorry I couldn't make it to the luncheon. I was...um...detained by about five states. LOL

Well Wren, I don't know where you get one, but if you follow Chilihead on over to her blog, scroll down until you see a small box that says "site meter," click on it (thus entering her underwear drawer) maybe it will tell you. When you're there tell her that her underwear were so intriguing that I just HAD to send you over.

I'm too nervous to go back. I got caught, ya know.

BUT if you had a site meter you'd know I've been over a few times. What's with the long silence?

Or maybe I accidentally bookmarked the wrong blog?

Working on one about my yesterday. It was good, then bad, then good, then bad, then really good.
