And So It Begins

This afternoon, Eldest came home from school and noticed that I brought High School Musical home from the library.

::gasp::"You got High School Musical?!?!"::big grin::

Are you kidding me? I picked it up because we couldn't get a sitter last Friday evening due to HSM2 premiering. Since I'd never seen 1, I figured I should know what the big deal was.

I had no idea that my SIX year old SON would be remotely interested. I had no idea that he had a CLUE what HSM was.

This is what you get when you put your kids in school. Apparently HSM is the BIG THING in the six year old crowd. Who knew?

I knew. Dimples has been talking about High School Musical for some time. I am sure it is because they have been hyping it on the Disney Channel for some time. It goes like this: add for HSM, The Suite Life with Zack and Cody, HSM add, Hannah Montana, HSM add. Loop that for 24 hours and you have the Disney channel. Should I be concerned that my son is into HSM? I don't know, but it makes me feel better that eldest is into it.

The girls know what it is from the commercials on the Disney channel too. But they haven't asked to see it or anything and deny that there is any talk at school about it. There probably is and they are just clueless..

I never had heard of it, until school started. A kindergarten girl wore a t-shirt with HSM on it and then they started talking about HSM II. So I wanted be "cool" and tuned in to the Disney Channel. It being a musical about HS kids my sons wouldn't have paid any attention to it when they were in kindergarten. It's all about the hype. CD
